Before we get to the tip, it should be noted that while aspirin is effective, it is more recommended for cleaning lighter or moderate stains. For the more stubborn, we prefer natural cleaning products whose properties are now widely exploited for domestic activities. This is the case with lemon juice, white vinegar and many others. Let’s look at the cleaning method we are interested in:
White garment soaked in cleaning solution
Prepare a 5-gallon bucket of warm water or a basin
Dissolve 7 or more aspirins in the bucket of warm water
Soak white clothing in the aspirin solution
Leave on for 8 hours or overnight
The next day, take the clothes out of the bucket and put them in the washing machine
Add 3 aspirin tablets to the washing machine drum
Activate a normal wash cycle
Hang white clothes to dry in the sun
Drying in the sun is obviously the optimal way to bleach clothes, but if the weather conditions do not allow it, you can fall back on other alternatives. This is the case of the trick that allows you to dry your laundry quickly without having to use the dryer.
How to use aspirin to remove stains by hand?
If you prefer to play with it manually, especially to get rid of stubborn stains, well you’re right! In some cases, this ensures that the product adheres better to the fabric. To manually remove stains with aspirin, the process is classic and very simple:!
Grind the aspirins until they become powder;
Sprinkle aspirin powder on the stain to be treated;
Add a little cold water (hot water only increases the streaking). A few drops are enough to form a paste with aspirin powder;
With the back of a spoon or your finger, rub the paste into the stained area;
Let the paste rest on the fabric fibers for a period of 2 or 3 hours;
Clean the stain in circular motions using a damp cloth or sponge;
Is the stain stubbornly visible? Feel free to repeat the process until you are satisfied with the result;
As a final step, put your clothes in the washing machine and activate the usual cycle;
Dry your clothes outdoors, hoping to let them enjoy the sun!
This approach should be used against sweat stains, blood stains or red wine stains. It’s good to know that a simple aspirin pill can get you out of trouble when you don’t have much on hand!
Once you know the cleaning effect of aspirin tablets on white laundry, you can’t help but see it as one of the most interesting alternatives that can exist. Now you know that your medicine cabinet contains a wonderful little whitening treasure.
