The television man had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for several years. He withdrew from media life in order to devote himself to his health but he left his mark. In the 1970s and 1980s, Jean-Pierre Descombes was omnipresent on the air of FR3, the former name of France 3. Viewers were able to find him between 1976 and 1987 since he hosted the 8 p.m. games, which became very popular. During it, general knowledge questions were asked of these celebrities and anonymous people.
