The facts date back to August 16, 2017 and took place in Coulaines, near Le Mans, in Sarthe. That morning, the mother of a 2-year-old child went out to buy bread. When she returned after being gone for a few minutes, her son was lying lifeless on the living room sofa. Emergency services arrived on the scene around 10 a.m. Despite resuscitation attempts, the child was pronounced dead at midday. His companion explained that the little boy had felt unwell while playing.

To find out the reasons for the death, an autopsy was carried out and revealed that the child died of internal bleeding caused by damage to his liver and pancreas. In reality, he was beaten to death. Carino Atchaliso, 32, appeared last week before the Sarthe criminal court for intentional violence leading to the death of his 2-year-old stepson. According to her, his head was broken and he died shortly after,” said the boy’s grandmother. The neighbors would also have confided that this woman of around thirty was strange and violent. The mother who accused her partner was indicted, while Raul's sister now lives in Germany with her uncle.
