Éric Ciotti excluded from the Les Républicains party: “I am and remain the president of our political party”

Following Éric Ciotti's desire to get closer to the National Rally for the legislative elections, a meeting of the political bureau was urgently called for this Wednesday, June 12. Result: the politician was unanimously excluded from the Les Républicains party. As Le Monde indicated, François-Xavier Bellamy and Annie Genevard will act as interim heads of LR.
On his X account (formerly Twitter, editor's note), Éric Ciotti reacted to his exclusion: “The meeting organized this afternoon was implemented in flagrant violation of our Les Républicains statutes. None of the decisions taken at this meeting have any legal consequences. It can have criminal consequences. I am and remain the president of our political party, elected by the members!“, he warned. And the court has just ruled in his favor.
