Jean-Pierre Descombes died at the age of 76, this Sunday, June 30, announced his eldest son, Romain, this Monday, July 1. Several television hosts paid tribute to the deceased, including Philippe Risoli.

The audiovisual world is facing an immense loss. This Monday, July 1, Romain Descombes announced the death of his father, Jean-Pierre Descombes. The TV host, aged 76, died this Sunday, June 30, at his home, following a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He leaves behind his wife, Colette, after more than 40 years of marriage, their three children, Romain, Julien and Jennifer, as well as grandchildren. The loss of the presenter of the show Les Jeux de 8 p.m. is also painful for many colleagues, including Philippe Risoli, with whom he worked on Le Juste Prix. On his X account (formerly Twitter, editor's note), the latter then paid tribute to him.

“Infinitely sad to learn of the disappearance of Jean-Pierre Descombes with whom I shared so many good times on television sets,” he soberly wrote. Jean-Pierre Foucault, another flagship presenter of TF1, also honored his memory on the social network: “Jean-Pierre Descombes is gone... so many memories in common, the 8 p.m. games, immensely popular host... then 'chauffeur' at Sacrée Soirée.
