Guest of the show “50 minutes Inside” on April 22, 2023 on TF1, Éric Antoine indulged in confidences. The magician spoke, not without emotion, of the memory of his mother who died at the dawn of his career.
“She saw, I think, my first autograph and then she left.” In a serious tone, Éric Antoine remembered, on the set of Nikos Aliagas in 50 minutes Inside, the special relationship he had with his mother before her disappearance. Facing the host of the Star Academy, the magician remembered the words of encouragement from his mother, while he was still at university and dreaming of a career on the stage: “I was in psychology, I was in medicine. She said to me: ‘Go do theater!’ and she introduced me to a teacher.”
Éric Antoine also spoke about his first performances, where his mother was one of the regulars in the front row. After the show, the latter was categorical. “She told me: ‘OK, it’s good you’ve found [what you’re going to do with your life, editor’s note].” Just before she died, his mother had sent letters to him, as well as to his brother and sister.
