(released in 1977), Amanda Lear, however, never managed to return to the success she experienced at that time. The fact remains that she has an impressive discography, with a last album signed in 2021 (Tuberose) and a regular album release every three to four years since 1977. From now on, however, her objective would be to take advantage of his retirement. And for the occasion, she doesn’t deprive herself! To spend his retirement, the artist decided to take advantage of his house in Provence.
AMANDA LEAR’S PACKAGE THANKS TO CHANEL
Amanda Lear's attachment to the south of France, and more particularly to Provence, is not new. She has lived there since 1981, the year she decided to settle in a small, remote and isolated village. Her choice then fell on a house with which she fell in love, and which she would not leave for anything in the world! The music star, widowed since the death of her husband Alain-Philippe Malagnac during a fire in 2000 in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès, chose this same isolated house to spend her retirement. This is located not far from Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, still in Provence. A residence which has the particularity of being extremely expensive. But what does it matter for the artist, especially since she hit the jackpot thanks to the cover of her songs by Chanel to produce advertisements!

“AT THE TIME, WE ONLY SWORE BY SAINT-TROPEZ”
Very attracted to Provence, Amanda Lear decided to settle there for around forty years now. She had literally fallen for this house located in an isolated village. However, it was not necessarily the destination she favored from the start. “At the time, we only swore by Saint-Tropez. I almost bought Brigitte Bardot’s house there, who changed her mind at the last moment,” she told Le Parisien in 2020. She does not regret her choice. The house she finally bought, and where she stayed, exudes Provence. “After a first house in Saint-Rémy, which she only kept for ‘two or three years’, she anchored herself in the heart of this village,” the Parisian also explained.
AMANDA LEAR WOULD NOT LEAVE HER HOUSE FOR ANYTHING IN THE WORLD
His house, itself magnificent, is equipped with a swimming pool. Orange and olive trees are planted in her garden and, of course, she is surrounded by the sound of cicadas! Amanda Lear has not revealed how much she spends on maintaining her home. However, she admitted that this old building costs her horribly. “An old hut is expensive. All my money goes into it, my friends tell me it’s too big, that I should sell.” However, this idea does not even cross the mind of the artist, who is very fond of his life in Provence. “I have a public image, so I give what they ask, I put on my glitter, show my gibbons... It's my business, but I much prefer the Amanda Lear who is here, quiet, who cooks, who puts garlic everywhere, who paints,” she said in the columns of Le Parisien. Amanda Lear then fully intends to end her days there, peacefully installed in her house in Provence. She would even like his ashes to be placed at the bottom of her garden, “with those of the goat and my three labradors”!
