The lifeless and mutilated body of Laura Trappeniers was found in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean on April 27. Since then, investigators in Hal-Vilvoorde have been on a war footing to shed light on this scabrous affair. Three men of Belgian origin were arrested by the authorities.

A FATHER AND SON SUSPECTED
This is how we learned that among these three people arrested were a father and his son from Mons. These two individuals are suspected of being at the heart of the plot which led to the death of the couple. The third person was arrested in Spain. He is accused of having hosted the first two protagonists mentioned in the Villette district, behind the Charleroi-Central station. The father and son are therefore suspected of having kidnapped, murdered and dismembered the two retirees. The discovery of the body of the 66-year-old woman forced them to change their plans and return to Belgium faster than expected. A detail that alerted investigators.

THE LAWYER FOR THE TWO MEN DEnies ANY LINK WITH THE DISAPPEARANCE
Since this arrest, it is now Maître Cochez who is in charge of the defense of one of the two defendants. He recently spoke out about his client, saying he was not guilty. In addition to this loudly proclaimed innocence, he categorically refuses to be extradited to the Iberian Peninsula. “He fears not benefiting from a fair trial in Spain,” explained the lawyer. Before continuing: “He has the impression that the Spanish justice system wants to quickly deal with this “high profile” case.” Then go on to talk about this man who “works hard”, about the fact that he had no criminal record. “It is very strange that such a person would suddenly commit a double murder.”
INVESTIGATORS ARE ADVANCED ON THE CASE OF THIS DISAPPEARANCE
On the side of justice, light is starting to come little by little, but gray areas still need to be clarified. The investigators, however, have their own idea of how the events unfolded. As is often the case, the motive would be nothing other than a story of money. It is also assumed that the bodies would have been transported in the restaurant owner's vehicle initially. They were then allegedly moved to another car. We will know more this Thursday July 4 regarding the possibility of extraditing these two Belgian nationals to Spain. A decision particularly feared by the two indicted.
