“I had a coma”: Michèle Laroque looks back on the accident that almost cost her life

Michèle Laroque spoke in “50 Minutes Inside” about a road accident which could have killed her when she was 19 years old. The actress notably returned to her awakening in the hospital, when she had just come out of a coma.
The disaster did not pass far for Michèle Laroque. The 62-year-old actress spoke in 50 Minutes Inside, with Nikos Aliagas, about her car accident which almost cost her life, when she was 19 years old. And more precisely on his awakening in the hospital, alongside his mother, then a dancer.
"My mother didn't tell me that she had tried to be an actress too. I had my coma, for a few hours, and when I woke up, I said to my mother who was there: ' You realize, I almost died without knowing if I was a good or bad actress' She didn't say anything, but I saw that there was something! the host of The Voice.
My leg had to be cut off
This could have turned into a tragedy for the actress who had her life in jeopardy after the accident, including a femur broken into eighteen pieces. “They had to cut off my leg,” she admitted during an interview with Télé 7 jours. “I only really got over it after four years. A year without walking, a lot of operations, it was very long” she then declared on France 2 in 2019. But the Niçoise managed to draw something positive from it. "I was lucky not to be angry, not to feel like a victim, not to be afraid. This accident was the beginning of everything. It was thanks to this accident that I understood, and that I said I wanted to be an actress,” she shared with Femme Actuelle.
Michèle Laroque therefore used this experience to move forward and become a renowned actress. She also found love, initially with director and adapter Dominique Deschamps in the 90s, before finally divorcing when she had just given birth to her daughter Orianne. She notably played alongside her mother in the films Comme t'y es belle and Brillantissime. Since the summer of 2008, Michèle Laroque has shared her life with the mayor of Troyes François Baroin. She notably admitted to having had a love affair with the actor Olivier Marchal in the 80s.
