, it’s often a good time. A romantic date, a family reunion or a meal with friends, all around good food. Of course, you can be disappointed by the food offered or by the prices. However, we will never arrive at an addition like that of this Chinese woman who made a mistake during her meal.
AN ERROR AT THE RESTAURANT CHARGED 55,000 EUROS
Bad surprises at restaurants can happen. A mediocre meal, a strange place or even allergies or a credit card that doesn't work, anything is possible. Everyone has a more or less funny anecdote, but Wang, a Chinese woman, did very well in an establishment located in Kunming, in the southwest of the country. Indeed, she had a nasty surprise after taking photos of her dishes (which many people do these days) and those of her friend, and published on the social network WeChat Moments.
The problem was that she didn't see that the QR code for their table appeared in the photos. Many Internet users then placed orders from Wang's table. Result: according to the daily newspaper South China Morning Post, the bill for the young woman and her friend reached the tidy sum of 55,000 euros. Imagine the faces of the two friends when they saw the note. The bill was for 2,580 orders of squid, 1,850 orders of duck and 9,990 servings of shrimp pasta. Just that. Wang, seeing all these figures, quickly realized his mistake.
Fortunately, the staff reacted immediately to this unprecedented event. The two friends changed tables in order to be able to isolate their order. Wang didn't take any more photos until the meal was over. The restaurant did not charge the 55,000 euros, but has changed its habits: you must now be physically present in the premises to place your order with the QR code. This big scare will serve as a lesson to Wang, but also to all those who like to take photos of their dishes and who will have heard of this adventure which ends well for the customer and her friend.
SHE PROPOSES TO SPLIT AN ADDITION OF 5000 EUROS, IT GOES WRONG
As is often the case, a young woman named Coco celebrated her birthday in a restaurant with friends. Everything went well until it was time to pay the bill which amounted to 5000 euros. Things quickly got worse. “It’s my birthday, why should I pay anything for my birthday?” declared the “queen of the evening”. A sentence which had dramatic consequences. His friend Christian held on and didn't want to pay that much even though he only consumed 20 euros. In the end, Coco had to pay 2000 euros… for her birthday.
