CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG AND YVAN ATTAL, A COUPLE THAT LASTS
Since their meeting in the 1990s, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yvan Attal have never left each other. However, many fans have always wondered why the two actors, parents of three children, had never married.
However, Yvan Attal had already proposed to Charlotte Gainsbourg in June 2013. “We are not going to get married in the end. It scares us, I have the impression that everything is fine, even [without us being] married,” he declared, revealing that the couple was very content with their current situation. However, the stability of the couple sometimes experiences some storms, notably when the two lovers cross paths on a film set.
YVAN ATTAL, “TYRANNIC” ON THE FILM SET
Even though the couple managed to find a balance outside of their marriage, tensions began to appear when Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yvan Attal filmed together. Worse still when Yvan Attal finds himself behind the camera, in the role of director. In 2019, in the show “Vivement Dimanche”, the daughter of Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin was questioned about the behavior of her companion on the film sets. The latter prefers to joke while anticipating his partner's response: “She's going to get revenge, I can feel it!”.
Yvan Attal also specifies that Charlotte Gainsbourg finds him a little “tyrannical” as a director, and even “quite despotic”. Aware of his demands, he concludes the interview by concluding: “A real asshole on all levels, go ahead! ".
For his film “My stupid dog”, Yvan Attal chose his partner Charlotte Gainsbourg as the main actress but he also called on their eldest son, Ben. “It was not a shoot like any other. It's difficult. There’s more pressure, it’s more complicated to manage, but at least we’re together,” declared the famous actress.
