RESEARCH AROUND THE DISAPPEARANCE OF MATTÉO MICHEL RELAUNCHED
This is how the Bagnères-de-Bigorre gendarmerie explained: “A man was walking below the Pic du Batoua when he found trail running shorts and some bones on the edge of a stream.” Before continuing: “The hiker had the reflex to record the GPS position of the discovery site, and went to the Vignec gendarmerie brigade to inform us.” A discovery which immediately alerted the inspectors. The latter immediately made the link with the still unexplained disappearance of Mattéo Michel.
STUDIES OF THE BONES TO MAKE THE CONNECTION WITH MATTÉO MICHEL
Following this sad discovery, a new research system was set up. The area where the bones were found will once again be searched with a fine-tooth comb by the gendarmes. A discovery which does not currently serve as confirmation. The police wish to remain cautious before making an official announcement. “These new elements should nevertheless be taken with caution. The bones are the subject of analyzes entrusted to the criminal research institute of the national gendarmerie. In particular to determine if they are indeed human bones. The garment will also be studied in order to confirm or deny that it belonged to Mattéo Michel.”
NOT A FIRST FOR THE FAMILY
This is unfortunately not the first time that Mattéo's family has experienced such an event. This already happened last November when a lifeless body was found. It finally turned out that it was not the body of Mattéo Michel, but that of a sixty-year-old. Still waiting, those close to Matteo wanted to pay tribute to him by placing a photo of him on the rock marking the starting point of his hike. A solemn moment during which the young man's mother expressed her wish to be able to find her son's body in order to finally be able to mourn.
