President Emmanuel Macron has busy plans for the coming days, particularly in view of the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will start on July 26. Unlike what Amélie Oudéa-Castéra and Anne Hidalgo did, Emmanuel Macron does not plan to swim in the Seine before the start of the Games, although it has been a topic of conversation.

According to information from the Élysée, although the president has expressed his wish to swim in the Seine in the future, this is not expected to happen before the opening of the Games. “He did not announce that he was going to swim before the Olympics, he announced that he was going to swim and he always expressed this certainty. He will not necessarily have the opportunity to do so before the Games,” specifies the presidency.

Macron and preparations for the Olympics
Next week will be particularly intense for the president, who will begin an “Olympic marathon”. On Monday, he will visit the Olympic village in the presence of Thomas Bach, the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and will take part in various activities related to the Games. It will be an opportunity for him to meet French athletes and visit the performance center.

During the week, Macron will inspect several Olympic venues, engage with operations and security teams, and host foreign business leaders for lunch.

Towards the end of the week, as the opening ceremony approaches, President Macron will have several meetings with world leaders. Nearly 110 heads of state and government are expected for this major event.

Despite a busy schedule and the imminence of the Olympic Games, the president's commitment to personally participate in the preparations and to welcome international dignitaries with dignity underlines the importance of this event for France and for his presidency.
