Whether you're looking to enjoy it alongside a traditional Turkish meal or simply to indulge in fresh, homemade bread, this recipe will guide you step-by-step through the process. By the end, you'll be able to create your own batch of delicious Turkish bread right in your kitchen.

Ingredients:

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons instant dry yeast
1 ½ cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
1 tablespoon flour (for dusting)
Directions:

Prepare the Yeast Mixture: In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir the ingredients together until a sticky dough forms.
Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. You may need to add more flour if the dough is too sticky.
Let the Dough Rise: Place the dough back into the bowl and cover it with a clean towel. Let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.
Shape the Bread: Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide it into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a round or oval loaf, depending on your preference.
Second Rise: Place the shaped loaves onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover them with a towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Prepare for Baking: Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds over the top of the loaves for added flavor and texture.
Bake the Bread: Bake the loaves for 25-30 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and produce a hollow sound when tapped on the bottom.
Cool: Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
