Hobo Chocolate Cake is an extraordinarily rich and delicious dessert, which surprises for its simplicity of preparation. Despite the evocative name, this cake is incredibly easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients:

200 g of high-quality dark chocolate
200 g of butter at room temperature
150 g of granulated sugar
4 eggs at room temperature
150 g of 00 flour
30 g of bitter cocoa powder
8 g of baking powder
A pinch of salt
Bitter cocoa powder to taste for dusting
Instructions:

Preparation of the Chocolate: Melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie or in the microwave, stirring until smooth. Leave to cool.

Beat the Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, work the softened butter with the granulated sugar until you obtain a creamy and homogeneous mixture.

Add the Eggs: Incorporate the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition to ensure complete absorption.

Add the Chocolate: Add the melted chocolate to the mixture, mixing until you obtain a uniform mixture.

Sift and Add the Powders: Sift together the flour, bitter cocoa, baking powder and salt. Gradually incorporate the powders into the mixture, mixing gently with a spatula or whisk until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous mixture.

Baking: Pour the mixture into a 22 cm diameter pan, previously lined with baking paper or buttered and floured. Level the surface with the back of a spoon. Bake in a static oven preheated to 180°C for about 40 minutes. Check the cooking by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cake: if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.

Cooling and Serving: Let the cake cool completely in the pan, then remove it and transfer it to a rack. Before serving, dust with bitter cocoa powder for a finishing touch.

Serving and Storage Tips:

Serving: Hobo Chocolate Cake is delicious on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Storage: Store the cake in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. For longer storage, you can freeze it after baking; let it cool completely, wrap it well and freeze.
