1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
For the Cream Cheese Layer:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup granulated sugar

Preheat Your Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
Make the Cookie Dough:
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling:
In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar together until smooth.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
Assemble the Cake:
Press half of the cookie dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form an even layer.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cookie dough.
Crumble the remaining cookie dough on top of the cream cheese layer.
