Ingredients
Main Ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats
2 cups milk (or water for a lighter version)
1 apple (chopped or grated)
¼ cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, or apricots)
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
Optional Additions:
1 tablespoon chia seeds or flaxseeds
¼ cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Step 1: Cook the Oats
In a medium saucepan, bring the milk (or water) to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
Stir in the oats, cinnamon, and salt. Reduce heat to low and cook for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 2: Add the Fruits
Add the chopped or grated apple to the oatmeal while it’s cooking, allowing it to soften and blend with the flavors.
Stir in the dried fruit and continue cooking for another 2–3 minutes, until the oats reach your desired consistency.
Step 3: Sweeten and Serve
Remove from heat and stir in honey or maple syrup if desired.
Add optional nuts and seeds for extra texture and nutrition.
Serve warm and enjoy your nourishing breakfast!
Serving and Storage Tips
Serving Suggestions: Top with extra dried fruit, a drizzle of honey, or a dollop of yogurt for added creaminess.
Storage: Store leftover oatmeal in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of milk or water to restore the creamy texture.
