Introduction: If you love the comforting flavors of homemade apple pie but want a simpler, quicker version, this tray-baked apple pie is the perfect solution. Made with grated apples, sugar, and just a few other ingredients, this recipe yields a deliciously moist and fragrant apple pie without all the fuss of traditional pie crust. It's perfect for a cozy afternoon snack or a delightful dessert to share with friends and family.

Ingredients:

1 kg of grated apples
120 g of sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional for extra warmth)
150 g of butter (melted)
250 g of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 egg (beaten)
A pinch of salt
Instructions:

Preheat the oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking tray (approximately 9x13 inches) or line it with parchment paper.

Prepare the apples: Peel and grate the apples, discarding the cores. Place the grated apples in a mixing bowl. Add the sugar, and cinnamon (if using), and mix well. Let it sit for 10 minutes to release some juice.

Make the dough: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the melted butter and the beaten egg, and mix until combined into a dough. The mixture should be thick but spreadable.

Assemble the pie: Spread half of the dough mixture evenly onto the prepared baking tray. Then, spoon the grated apple mixture on top, spreading it out evenly. Finally, crumble the remaining dough mixture over the apples, trying to cover as much of the apple filling as possible.

Bake: Place the tray in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool and serve: Let the apple pie cool slightly before cutting it into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Serving and Storage Tips:

Serving: Serve your tray-baked apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for a special treat.
Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days. If you want to keep it longer, you can refrigerate it for up to a week or freeze it for up to a month. Just reheat in the oven for a warm, fresh taste.
