Ingredients
1 can (400g) sweetened condensed milk
1 can (400ml) coconut milk (or regular milk for a different flavor)
1 package (100g) cream cheese, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ cup (100g) sugar (optional, depending on desired sweetness)
1 tablespoon cornstarch or gelatin powder
A pinch of salt
Instructions
Prepare the Blender: Add the sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, cream cheese, sugar (if using), vanilla extract, cornstarch or gelatin, and salt to the blender.
Blend: Start blending on a low setting and gradually increase the speed. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
Heat the Mixture: Pour the blended mixture into a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens (about 5-7 minutes). Make sure it doesn’t boil.
Set the Creamy Base: Once thickened, remove from the heat and pour into serving glasses or molds.
Chill: Let the “cremoso” cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
Serve: Garnish with fruit, chocolate shavings, or whipped cream if desired.
Serving and Storage Tips
Serving: The "cremoso" is best served chilled. Pair it with fresh berries, a drizzle of caramel, or a sprinkle of toasted nuts for added flavor and texture.
Storage: Store the leftover dessert in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. It can also be frozen, though the texture may slightly change upon thawing.
