Introduction
We all know the struggle of a smelly toilet. Whether it’s after a long day or a sudden rush, odors can easily build up in the bathroom. But don't worry—there’s a simple, natural solution to this problem! These DIY toilet bombs are not only effective but also easy to make. With just a few basic ingredients, you can create bombs that freshen the air, fight odors, and leave your toilet smelling great. Plus, they’re free from harmful chemicals, making them an eco-friendly alternative to store-bought options.
Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
1/4 cup citric acid
1/4 cup cornstarch
20 drops of essential oil (eucalyptus, lavender, or tea tree oil are great choices)
2 tablespoons water
Silicone mold or ice cube tray
Instructions:
Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the baking soda, citric acid, and cornstarch. Stir well to ensure they’re evenly mixed.
Add Essential Oils: Drop in your chosen essential oils. Stir the mixture again to distribute the scent evenly throughout the powder.
Add Water: Slowly add the water a little at a time, stirring continuously. You want the mixture to be damp but not too wet. The texture should resemble slightly clumpy sand. If the mixture starts to fizz, you’ve added too much water at once, so adjust accordingly.
Mold the Bombs: Spoon the mixture into your silicone mold or ice cube tray. Press it down firmly to ensure the bombs hold their shape. Leave them to dry for 12-24 hours, or until they’re completely hard.
Remove and Store: Once they’re dry, gently remove the bombs from the mold. Store them in an airtight container or jar to keep them fresh and ready to use.
Serving and Storage Tips:
How to Use: To use, simply drop one toilet bomb into the bowl before or after you go. Allow it to fizz and dissolve, releasing fresh scents and neutralizing odors.
Storage: Keep your toilet bombs in a cool, dry place, away from moisture to prevent them from dissolving prematurely. A jar with a tight-fitting lid works great for keeping them fresh.
