Introduction
Panko fried shrimp is a crispy, golden-brown treat that delivers both flavor and texture in every bite. This recipe combines the lightness of panko breadcrumbs with succulent shrimp to create an irresistible appetizer perfect for any occasion. Whether you're hosting a dinner party, preparing a special meal, or just craving something delicious, panko fried shrimp provides a perfect balance of crunch and tenderness. The best part? It’s quick and easy to make, yet tastes like a gourmet dish.

Ingredients
(Serves 4)

500 g large shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 ½ cups panko breadcrumbs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

½ tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Vegetable oil for frying

Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp
Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. This will help the coating stick better during frying.

Set Up the Breading Station
In one shallow bowl, place the flour. In another bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Coat the Shrimp
Dredge each shrimp first in the flour, ensuring it is evenly coated. Dip the floured shrimp into the beaten egg, then coat it with the seasoned panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure a good coverage.

Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium heat. The oil is ready when a small piece of bread dropped into it sizzles immediately.

Fry the Shrimp
Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil, a few at a time, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Drain and Serve
Once fried, remove the shrimp from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges for an extra burst of freshness.

Serving and Storage Tips

Serving: These crispy shrimp are perfect on their own as an appetizer, but you can also serve them with a dipping sauce like cocktail sauce, spicy mayo, or a tangy honey mustard. Pair them with a refreshing salad or as part of a seafood platter for a complete meal.

Storage: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. To maintain their crispiness, reheat them in a hot oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes, or briefly in a hot pan.
