Liquid Gold from Lemons: The Secret Power of Lemon Seeds

Introduction
Lemons are a kitchen staple, prized for their tangy juice and zesty peel. But there’s one part of the fruit most people toss without a second thought—the seeds. Surprisingly, lemon seeds are a hidden gem with a range of benefits, especially when used the right way. Before you discard them during your next citrus-squeezing session, discover how you can transform these tiny powerhouses into a valuable addition to your wellness routine.

Ingredients:
Seeds from 3–4 fresh lemons

½ cup of filtered water

Small clean jar or container with a lid

(Optional, depending on use)

1 tbsp honey (for flavor if consuming)

1 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil (for skin care use)

Instructions:
1. Collect and Clean the Seeds
After juicing your lemons, separate the seeds and rinse them under cold water. Remove any pulp or juice residue.

2. Dry the Seeds
Spread the cleaned seeds on a paper towel and allow them to dry completely—this can take up to 24 hours. This step helps prevent mold if you’re storing them or using them in DIY products.

3. Crush or Grind the Seeds
Once dry, use a mortar and pestle or spice grinder to gently crush the seeds into a coarse powder. You don’t need to turn them into dust—just break them down enough to release their oils and nutrients.

4. Infuse or Mix
There are two main ways to use the crushed seeds:

As a Detox Drink: Steep 1 tsp of crushed seeds in hot (not boiling) water for 5–10 minutes. Strain and drink like tea. Add honey for flavor.

For Skincare: Mix crushed seeds with a natural oil to make a nourishing scrub or mask. Lemon seed oil is known for its antibacterial and antioxidant properties, making it excellent for acne-prone or aging skin.

Serving and Storage Tips:
Storage: Store leftover crushed seeds in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to one month.

Serving: For detox tea, drink once daily in the morning or before bed. For skin care, use 2–3 times a week, avoiding the eye area.
