Introduction
Sinus congestion can be an incredibly uncomfortable experience, making it difficult to breathe, sleep, and function throughout the day. Whether caused by allergies, colds, or seasonal changes, the pressure and stuffiness can feel overwhelming. While over-the-counter medications provide relief, natural remedies like homemade sinus relief tea offer a soothing, effective alternative. This easy-to-make tea combines powerful ingredients known for their decongestant, anti-inflammatory, and immune-boosting properties.

Ingredients
To prepare this sinus relief tea, you’ll need:

2 cups of water

1-inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced

1 clove of garlic, crushed (optional but highly beneficial)

1 teaspoon turmeric powder (or ½ teaspoon fresh turmeric, grated)

1 tablespoon honey (preferably raw or local honey)

½ lemon, juiced

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra sinus-clearing power)

1 cinnamon stick (or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon)

1 peppermint or eucalyptus tea bag (for additional respiratory relief)

Instructions
In a small pot, bring the water to a boil.

Add the sliced ginger, crushed garlic (if using), turmeric, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes to extract the beneficial compounds.

Turn off the heat and add the peppermint or eucalyptus tea bag. Let it steep for 5 minutes.

Strain the tea into a cup, removing the solid ingredients.

Stir in the honey and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Drink while warm and inhale the steam as you sip to help clear nasal passages.

Serving and Storage Tips
Serving: Drink this tea warm, preferably in the morning and before bed, to maximize its effects. If congestion is severe, you can sip on it throughout the day.

Storage: If you want to prepare a larger batch, store the strained tea in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently before drinking, but avoid boiling it again to preserve the beneficial properties of the ingredients.
