Introduction
Swollen legs, ankles, and feet—also known as peripheral edema—can be uncomfortable and even painful. This common issue is often due to fluid retention, standing or sitting too long, high salt intake, or certain medical conditions. While addressing the root cause is essential, nature offers a gentle remedy to help relieve swelling: herbal tea.
This natural diuretic tea is made from ingredients known for their anti-inflammatory and fluid-reducing properties. It helps flush excess fluids from the body, eases inflammation, and supports overall circulation—without the need for over-the-counter water pills.
Ingredients
To make this soothing tea, you'll need the following all-natural ingredients:
1 tsp dried dandelion leaf – a natural diuretic that helps the body eliminate excess water.
1 tsp dried parsley – supports kidney function and reduces water retention.
1 tsp dried ginger root (or 2-3 thin slices of fresh ginger) – improves circulation and reduces inflammation.
1 tsp dried hibiscus flowers – rich in antioxidants and helps reduce blood pressure and bloating.
2 cups of filtered water
1 tsp lemon juice (optional) – for taste and extra detoxifying support.
1 tsp honey (optional) – for sweetness and added anti-inflammatory benefits.
Directions
In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil.
Add all dried herbs and ginger to the water.
Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 10–15 minutes.
Remove from heat and let it steep for another 5 minutes.
Strain the tea into a mug.
Add lemon juice and honey if desired.
Sip slowly and mindfully.
