Introduction
Banana peels are often overlooked, quickly tossed into the trash without a second thought. But did you know that these humble scraps are packed with nutrients that can do wonders for your plants? Instead of wasting them, you can transform banana peels into a powerful, eco-friendly fertilizer by simply bottling them. This easy and effective method not only reduces kitchen waste but also gives your garden a natural boost. Once you try it, you'll never throw banana peels away again!

Ingredients
3–5 ripe banana peels

1 liter (about 4 cups) of water

1 teaspoon of molasses or sugar (optional, to speed up fermentation)

1 reusable plastic or glass bottle with a lid

Directions
Prepare the Peels: Chop the banana peels into small pieces. This helps them break down faster and release nutrients more easily.

Fill the Bottle: Add the banana peel pieces into the bottle until it’s about halfway full.

Add Water: Pour water into the bottle until it's full, leaving a little space at the top.

Optional Sweet Boost: Add a teaspoon of molasses or sugar to kickstart fermentation and enhance nutrient breakdown.

Seal and Wait: Tightly close the bottle and let it sit at room temperature for 5–7 days. Give it a gentle shake once a day to keep things moving.

Use the Liquid: After a week, strain the mixture. The liquid can now be used as a natural fertilizer. Dilute it with water at a 1:5 ratio before applying to your plants.

Compost the Solids: Don’t toss the remaining banana bits! Add them to your compost pile or bury them around your plants for slow-release nutrients.

Serving and Storage Tips
Storage: Keep the banana peel fertilizer in a sealed container in the fridge if you're not using it right away. It should stay good for up to two weeks.

Application Frequency: Use the diluted fertilizer once every two weeks for outdoor plants and once a month for indoor ones.

Best Time to Use: Water your plants with this solution early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid sunburn on leaves.
