Introduction:
Knee and bone pain can be debilitating, especially as we age. My mom had struggled with knee and joint pain for years, relying on various treatments and remedies with limited success. However, she discovered a surprising yet effective natural remedy that helped alleviate her pain: boiled eggshells. While it may sound unconventional, eggshells are rich in calcium and other minerals that support bone health. In this article, I’ll share the simple steps she took to create the remedy and how it transformed her daily life.
Ingredients:
2-3 eggshells (preferably organic)
1 cup of water
1 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional, for extra benefits)
A pinch of salt (optional, for taste)
Directions:
Clean the Eggshells: Start by thoroughly cleaning the eggshells. Wash them well under running water to remove any egg residue. You may also want to gently scrub them with a soft brush to ensure they’re completely clean.
Boil the Eggshells: Place the cleaned eggshells in a small pot and cover them with about one cup of water. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and let the eggshells simmer for 10-15 minutes. This process will help release the calcium and other beneficial minerals into the water.
Remove and Dry the Eggshells: After boiling, remove the eggshells and allow them to cool. You can save them for later use or discard them, depending on your preference.
Prepare the Remedy: Once the eggshells have cooled, break them into small pieces or grind them into a fine powder. If you prefer, you can also crush them using a mortar and pestle.
Combine with Water: Mix the crushed eggshell powder or small pieces back into the water used for boiling. Stir well until the solution becomes slightly thicker. Optionally, you can add a teaspoon of lemon juice for an extra boost of vitamin C, which helps with calcium absorption, and a pinch of salt for taste.
Consume: Take 1-2 tablespoons of the eggshell mixture daily. Some prefer to drink it on an empty stomach, while others mix it into a smoothie or other beverages.
Serving and Storage Tips:
Storage: Store any leftover eggshell remedy in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It’s best to consume it within 3-4 days.
Serving: The remedy can be consumed straight, or you can incorporate it into soups, smoothies, or other recipes to mask the taste if desired.
