Ingredients
Fresh whole fish (any type)
1 large, sturdy plastic bag (zip-top bags work best)
Optional: a dull butter knife or fish scaler
Instructions
Prepare Your Setup:
Place your fresh fish inside the plastic bag. Make sure the bag is large enough for you to comfortably move your hands inside.
Start Scaling:
Hold the fish firmly through the bag with one hand. With the other hand (also inside the bag), use your fingers, a dull knife, or a fish scaler to gently scrape against the direction of the scales. Work from the tail towards the head.
Catch the Scales:
The bag will contain the loose scales, preventing them from flying all over your kitchen.
Check Your Progress:
