Introduction:
A clogged drain can bring your entire kitchen or bathroom to a halt. Instead of reaching for harsh chemicals or dialing your plumber (and draining your wallet), try this simple, all-natural solution. It's made with ingredients you probably already have at home, it’s safe for your pipes, and best of all — it works!
Ingredients:
½ cup baking soda
½ cup white vinegar
2 cups boiling water
Optional: a few drops of essential oil (like lemon or eucalyptus) for fragrance
Preparation:
Remove any visible debris from your drain (hair, food particles, etc.).
Pour the baking soda directly into the drain.
Follow with the vinegar. You’ll hear fizzing and bubbling — that’s the reaction breaking down gunk!
Cover the drain with a stopper or a damp cloth to force the reaction downward.
Let it sit for 15–30 minutes.
Carefully pour the boiling water down the drain to flush it all out.
Serving and Storage Tips:
No serving here, but this mixture is best used immediately after mixing. For prevention, you can use this method once a month to keep drains fresh and flowing.
