Introduction:
After two exhausting months of battling buzzing nuisances in every corner of my kitchen, living room, and bathroom, I stumbled upon a simple natural remedy that transformed my home in just one minute. Flies disappeared — and they’ve stayed gone. Whether you're dealing with fruit flies or houseflies, this DIY solution may be the end of your airborne insect problems.
Ingredients:
½ cup apple cider vinegar
10 drops of lavender essential oil
10 drops of eucalyptus essential oil (optional for extra strength)
A few drops of dish soap
A small glass or jar
Plastic wrap and a rubber band (if needed)
Preparation:
Pour the apple cider vinegar into the jar or glass until it’s about halfway full.
Add the essential oils — lavender is key as it repels flies, and eucalyptus adds a strong herbal scent that intensifies the effect.
Add 2–3 drops of dish soap. This breaks the surface tension so flies can’t escape once they land.
Optional: Cover the top of the jar with plastic wrap and secure it with a rubber band. Poke a few small holes in the top — just big enough for flies to enter.
Serving and Storage Tips:
Place one jar in each room where flies are a problem — especially near fruit bowls, garbage bins, or windows.
Replace the mixture every 5–7 days or once it starts to lose its scent.
Store essential oils in a cool, dark place to retain their potency for future batches.
