Introduction:
Over time, bathroom and kitchen tiles tend to lose their pristine look due to blackened grout lines. Mold, soap scum, moisture, and everyday dirt are often the culprits. But don’t worry—there’s a simple, effective, and natural way to restore those grout lines to a brilliant white without the need for harsh chemicals or expensive products. This miraculous homemade cleaner uses everyday ingredients and takes just a few minutes to prepare.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup baking soda
1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide (3%)
1 teaspoon liquid dish soap (preferably clear and unscented)
Optional: A few drops of tea tree oil (for mold-fighting power and fragrance)
Preparation:
In a small bowl, mix the baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form a paste.
Stir in the dish soap until well combined.
(Optional) Add a few drops of tea tree oil and mix again.
Pour the mixture into a squeeze bottle or keep it in the bowl for easy application.
Application:
Apply the cleaner generously along the blackened grout lines using a toothbrush or grout brush.
Let the mixture sit for 5–10 minutes to break down dirt and mold.
Scrub gently with the brush to lift stains and residue.
Rinse with warm water and wipe clean with a damp cloth.
Serving and Storage Tips:
Store any leftover mixture in a tightly sealed container or squeeze bottle for up to a week.
Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Shake or stir before use if separation occurs.
