Introduction
There are few recipes that feel like magic—but this is one of them. I wish I learned this years ago, because it would’ve saved me from dozens of boring dinners and dirty dishes. This one-pan creamy garlic chicken is rich, comforting, and shockingly easy. It's a go-to whether you’re cooking for yourself, family, or guests, and it’s done in under 30 minutes with ingredients you probably already have.
Ingredients:
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced in half lengthwise)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
4 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning (or a mix of thyme, basil, oregano)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Preparation:
Prep the Chicken
Pat chicken dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Sear
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear for 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
Garlic Magic
Lower heat to medium. In the same pan, add butter and garlic. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not burnt.
Build the Sauce
Pour in chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up the flavorful bits. Let simmer for 2 minutes. Add cream, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning. Stir well and let the sauce thicken slightly (about 5 minutes).
Combine & Finish
Return the chicken to the pan. Spoon the sauce over it and let it simmer for another 5–6 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
Garnish & Serve
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve warm. Excellent with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.
Tips for Presentation and Conservation:
Garnish with fresh parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan for that restaurant-style finish.
Serve in a shallow dish or cast-iron pan for a rustic, cozy vibe.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove with a splash of broth or cream to refresh the sauce.
