Introduction:
Orchids are notoriously finicky plants—beautiful but delicate. When their roots shrivel and die, many gardeners give up hope. But what if you could revive your struggling orchid with a simple, natural remedy from your kitchen? Believe it or not, sprinkling one spoonful of a surprising ingredient can breathe new life into those lifeless roots and spark lush blooms year-round!
In this article, you’ll discover a completely original recipe for a homemade orchid revival mix—free from chemicals, full of life.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder (natural antifungal)
1 tablespoon of crushed garlic or garlic juice (antibacterial properties)
1 liter of lukewarm water
Optional: 1 teaspoon of honey (natural root stimulator)
Preparation:
Boil 1 liter of water and let it cool to lukewarm.
Add the crushed garlic and stir well. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes to release its properties.
Strain out the garlic solids.
Add 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and mix until dissolved.
(Optional) Stir in the honey if you wish to boost root growth.
Pour the mixture into a spray bottle or shallow basin.
How to Use:
Remove your orchid from its pot and gently clean off any dead roots.
Dip the base of the plant and roots into the solution for 15–20 minutes.
Let the orchid air dry.
Replant in fresh orchid bark mix and place in indirect light.
Use the spray bottle version once every two weeks to maintain health.
