Introduction
In many cultures around the world, salt and water have been revered as natural elements capable of cleansing and purifying spaces. Beyond their physical properties, these simple ingredients hold symbolic power believed to neutralize negative or harmful energies in your home. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, want to reset your living environment, or simply seek a peaceful atmosphere, this easy and natural method can help you create a refreshing and balanced space.
Ingredients
1 cup of sea salt or kosher salt (natural salts without additives are preferred)
2 liters of clean, room-temperature water (preferably distilled or filtered)
Optional additions for enhanced purification and scent:
A few drops of essential oils such as lavender, eucalyptus, or sage
Fresh herbs like rosemary or sage leaves
Preparation
Start by filling a clean glass or ceramic bowl with the 2 liters of water.
Slowly add the cup of salt to the water while stirring clockwise until completely dissolved.
If desired, add 5-10 drops of your chosen essential oil or a handful of fresh herbs to the mixture for an extra layer of cleansing and a pleasant aroma.
Place the bowl in the center of the room or near entrances to allow the salt water to absorb negative energies.
Leave the mixture in the space for at least 24 hours before discarding it. Avoid using metal containers as they can react with salt.
Tips for Presentation and Storage
Use a clear glass bowl to visually see the salt as it dissolves and gathers impurities.
Do not reuse the salt water; discard it outside your home or down a drain with running water.
After use, cleanse your bowl with warm water and dry it thoroughly.
Repeat the process monthly or whenever you feel the energy in your home needs refreshing.
