White Vinegar
Baking Soda
Both of these ingredients are common, affordable, and often available at any dollar store. Combined, they create a powerful yet gentle cleaning solution that tackles stains, neutralizes odors, and lifts grime from carpet fibers.
Preparation:
Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda evenly over the area of the carpet you want to clean. Let it sit for 15–30 minutes to absorb odors.
Fill a spray bottle with equal parts white vinegar and warm water.
After the baking soda has had time to work, lightly mist the area with the vinegar solution. It will start to fizz—that’s the cleaning reaction!
Let the mixture sit for another 5–10 minutes.
Gently scrub the area with a soft brush or cloth.
