🟢 Introduction:
Milia, often referred to as "milk spots" or "fat cysts," are small, white or yellowish bumps that commonly appear on the face—especially around the eyes, nose, and cheeks. Unlike pimples, milia are not caused by clogged pores due to oil or dirt; instead, they form when keratin (a skin protein) becomes trapped beneath the skin’s surface.
While they’re harmless, many find them frustrating and want them gone. Instead of harsh chemicals or invasive extractions, here’s a gentle, home-based remedy “recipe” designed to help reduce and prevent milia over time using natural ingredients.
🟢 Ingredients:
2 tablespoons raw honey (antibacterial and moisturizing)
1 teaspoon sugar (for light exfoliation)
1 teaspoon lemon juice (mild astringent and natural exfoliant)
2 teaspoons jojoba oil or rosehip oil (non-comedogenic moisturizer)
2 drops tea tree essential oil (optional; antimicrobial)
🟢 Preparation:
In a small bowl, mix the honey, sugar, and lemon juice until well combined.
Add jojoba or rosehip oil to the mixture and stir until it forms a smooth paste.
If using tea tree oil, add 1–2 drops and blend gently.
🟢 Application:
Wash your face with a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser and pat dry.
Apply the mixture to areas with milia, using circular motions to lightly exfoliate.
Leave the mixture on for 10–15 minutes.
Rinse with warm (not hot) water and pat your skin dry with a clean towel.
Follow with a light, fragrance-free moisturizer.
Repeat 2–3 times per week. Avoid over-exfoliation, especially if your skin is sensitive.
🟢 Serving and Storage Tips:
Store leftover mixture (without tea tree oil) in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Because the ingredients are fresh, always do a patch test before applying to the entire face.
Use a clean spoon to scoop out the mixture to prevent contamination.
