Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep – Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Cream Butter & Sugar – In a large bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add Wet Ingredients – Mix in eggs one at a time, then stir in buttermilk and vanilla.

  4. Combine Dry Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

  5. Bake – Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto the baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.

  6. Make Glaze – While cookies bake, whisk melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and water until smooth.

  7. Glaze Warm Cookies – Brush glaze over cookies as soon as they come out of the oven. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.

Variations & Tips

  • Spiced Version: Add ½ tsp cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough.
