Instructions

1. Prepare the Steak Patties

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, crushed crackers, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and egg. Mix gently—don’t overwork the meat.

  • Shape into 8 equal patties and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  • Chill for 1 hour (helps them hold shape).

2. Brown the Patties

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear patties 2–3 minutes per side (just until browned).

  • Transfer to a 9×13-inch baking dish.

3. Make the Gravy

  • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

  • Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes until golden.

  • Gradually pour in beef broth, whisking to prevent lumps.

  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer 3–4 minutes until thickened.

4. Bake

  • Pour gravy over patties, coating evenly.

  • Cover with foil and bake 30–35 minutes until cooked through.

5. Serve

  • Spoon extra gravy over patties. Pair with mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or steamed veggies.
